Want to take your bar mitzvah to a whole new dimension? Try a 3D centerpiece that can transport guests sitting in a ballroom into the starry depths of the Milky Way!

Allyne Agrest, owner of Events By Allyne, was inspired by the brightly colored digital shorts Coca-Cola airs before movies — you know, the ones that whip you through a whimsical forest of popcorn trees and cola waterfalls — and created 3D centerpieces (check out the slide show above!) that literally bring the bar or bat mitzvah’s theme to life. Agrest and her team of artists use black lights, fluorescent paint, and styrofoam boards to create any image you ask for — of any shape and size — and then paint words or drawings onto the board that truly pops. Guests put on their 3D glasses when they walk into your party, and will be shocked by this visual treat.

“When people walk in the door and wear their glasses, they literally jump back and make a face because something’s coming at you,” Agrest says.

At one party, Agrest’s thrill-loving client chose to take his guests on a rollercoaster ride. Before entering the main room, guests were each given a tag with the name of a famous roller coaster on it that was used to identify their table. Each table had a 3D Thunderbolt, Cyclone, or Steel Phantom sprouting from the center, making it easy — and as exciting as a twisting turn on the Magnum XL — for everyone to find their places.

Agrest also creates 3D welcome signs, DJ booth backdrops, or anything that wheedles the word “wow” out of someone’s mouth.

Events By Allyne is based in Illinois, but it can ship 3D glasses and eye-popping centerpieces to any location in the world. She suggests picking a venue with black lights installed to avoid any additional fees.
